For those who haven’t guessed it already “avonana” is avocado and banana. This literally is one of the best vegan friendly smoothies to get you kickstarted in the morning, it is perfect pre and post workout/walk/run.
I used a delicious cold pressed almond milk that I have come across, it is unsweetened, no added nasties and made here in Sydney, I believe it takes the smoothie to the next level and couldn’t recommend it more highly (If in Aus you can buy here).
The avocado contain the “good fats” (mono-unsaturated) which have compounds to protect the body from inflammation, heart disease, types of cancer (will help your body absorb antioxidants such as lycopene and betacarotene), high cholesterol, blood glucose swings and insulin resistance (the good fat helps your bod steady its bloody glucose), source. They also contain vitamin E (great for skin, nails and hair), potassium (blood pressure & heart function) , magnesium (sleep) and folate (help treats low iron levels in blood). Bananas are fabulous source of potassium too, they contain trytophan (helps with depression and stress), nut milk is brilliant at nourishing the immune system.

400ml Almond Milk
1 Ripe Banana
1 Tbsp Peanut Butter
- In a jug add all ingredients and blitz with a whizz stick. Make the night before and have pre-work out in the morning
