My homemade chia pots are my go-to breakkie for when it’s too hot in the morning to turn on any heating appliance or when i’m time-poor.
If you read my blogpost on tips to improve your digestive health, this simple recipe is one to help your digestion.
This delicious chia pot to start the day is chia seeds, almond milk combined with ripe mushed banana and fresh raspberries. Full of fibre (both soluble and insoluble) which is ideal to help maintain a healthy cholesterol.
*This tasty recipe is GF, Paleo, Vegan & Dairy Free
Why are they good for you:
Chia seeds are also a fabulous source of plant based omega 3 (which a great anti-inflammatory and helps boost your immunity). These little seeds are also known to help joint pain, aid with weight loss (as they make you feel more full) and also help with energy levels whilst exercising.
Bananas are a good source of potassium (helps you keep alertness and prevents muscle fatigue – great for post workout) and fibre which also include tryptophan and B6 which can help with depression and anxiety and help you feel less stressed as well as helping you combat sleeplessness. This book is a great one for more foodie information.
Raspberries are a good source of vitamin c to help with your immunity. They are low in kilojoules, but high in fibre (this will help with the digestion of the protein from the nuts and optional powder) and potassium (which will help with your fluid balance in the body and help maintain a steady heartbeat).
Almond milk (my preference is Inside Out Nutritious Goods) it is also a good source of calcium (bones, skin and tissue), phosphorus (cell growth, metabolism, ATP (energy currency in cells) uses phosphorus to do their work) and magnesium (metabolism, immunity and help to regulate blood pressure and lung function).
Let me know if you make it, I think you might like this on.
