Only a stones throw away from Sydney. A short 90km drive took us into the Blue Abyss. The Blue Mountains do actually have a blue haze that hovers above them. Read more about the in’s and out’s of why they are blue here. We headed up to the fresh air of Katoomba, the hub to all things happening in the Blue Mountains, with nature walks on the doorstep, big old country pubs and more outdoor clothes shopping than you could bargain for. It is a great place to head to for the weekend.

The first port of call was the much talked about “Three Sisters“; which are a fabulous rock formation created by soft sandstone combined with the elements. They really are breath taking…
|can you see the little walkway left of the photo, scary how high you are up!|

We left the large crowds at The Three Sisters and took to a short bush walk around to the beautiful Katoomba Falls. Definitely wear trainers not for thong-wearers! Absolutely stunning scenery. I will let the photos do the talking.

And then finally a couple of km’s later we finally reached the beautiful Katoomba Falls.
