I put this delicious immune boosting juice up on my instagram page last week and I have been meaning to get this ridiculously simple recipe up onto my blog for you all to see.
I have recently bought myself a great Nutri-blender from Healthy Life store, it is currently $49 reduced from $100 and available in stores. This is not sponsored or anything, I just love sharing a good deal.
This little device over the past few weeks has been life changing for me. You can mill nuts to make nut flour, make dips etc as well as smoothies and juices. The best thing about using a Nutri-blender is also you keep all of the fibre, unlike juicers it keeps the fibre there, (so we don’t just get the high dose fructose sugar minus the fibre from the fruit), but the fibre will help with digestion and certain blood pressure issues.
This juice was great booster for immunity with fresh organic oranges, turmeric, ginger and a pinch of cayenne pepper whizzed up with some coconut water.
Why is it good for you;
Oranges are a great dose of vitamin C, but also a good source of potassium, folate and thiamine. Oranges are also rich in flavanoids and antioxidants which will help nourish your immune system and high in soluble fibre which will aid with your cholesterol levels.
Turmeric’s active ingredient curcumin (activated by a pinch of pepper (cayenne pepper)) has a list of benefits from anti-inflammatory, anti-microbial, anti-bacterial, anti-fungal and a blood purifier. It helps us digest food by aiding the pancreas to release pancreatic lipase (digestive enzyme).
Ginger is a powerful root herb, great for immunity, infection and can be used for motion sickness, pain relief and can also aid digestion.
Coconut water is good for hydration and will help after physical activity, reduce hypertension and aid in dehydration from illness or diarrhoea.
