This is the very first time I have tried quinoa porridge. I have to say I was not disappointed.
I added sticky banana and blueberries and then a sprinkling of cashews (nature’s very own anti-depressants).
Porridge is such a great way to start the day, some people don’t sit well with oats so this is a great alternative. It is full of protein thanks to the quinoa and almond milk.

Tip* you can literally add anything you want to this (I added what I had available to hand) add goji berries, fresh fruit, all types of nuts etc
Hope you enjoy this little number. No more than 15 minutes to make. Guaranteed to fight off hunger until lunch. Try something new on your next breakfast.
1/3 Cup Organic Quinoa (my preferred choice is KeeWah)
1 Cup Organic Almond Milk
1/3 Cup Blueberries
1 Ripe Banana, finely sliced
1 Tsp Organic Butter
1 Tsp Honey
Handful Raw cashew nuts, roughly chopped
1/3 Cup Almond Milk to serve
- In a small sauce pan, add quinoa and almond milk. Bring it to simmer over a medium heat, gently let it cook and absorb until the quinoa is light and fluffy.
- During this time grab a small sauce pan, heat the butter then add the slices of banana, gently heat them for a couple of minutes before adding the honey to help caramelise the banana slices. Fry them in the honey for 2-3 minutes until browned on the outside.
- Stir in blueberries into quinoa. Load up your bowl. Top with caramelised banana, then cashews. Finish off with almond milk to serve.
