It has been a while since I have posted a recipe, time has run away with me and the year has swiftly speeded up into the jaws that is Christmas.
As much as I love this time of year, life always seems so rushed, plans that I made for Christmas blogposts have fallen out of the window due to excessive freelance food photography work (work with me if you want your food/menu/recipes to look good for social media), end of term exams in organic chemistry, nutrition and anatomy and finalising assignments due, which has involved a lot of hard work and juggling. I have a few recipes in the pipeline that I have been dying to get out of my head and off scraps of paper.
This recipe is no exception and is designed for any night of the week, it is superbly simple, great for the Festive season and goes really well with lots of side salads, big potato salads, roast veggies and so on. My smokey beef koftas drizzled with homemade tzatziki and scattered with pomegranates.
The kids, family, cousins, friends or just yourself will love this simple dish, its good for you too.
Organic Beef Mince will guarantee you the best protein with all of the essential amino acids which will nourish, replenish and repair tissue, skin and muscles. The bones when slow cooked will release glutamine which is great for your gut (this can help with allergies, immunity and overall wellness). Grass fed is also higher in omega 3 fats and vitamin E, which is great for skin and immunity.
Cucumber is not only great for your skin, but brilliant for people who might suffer from excessive sweating
Cayenne Pepper is great source of vitamin c, it is also high betacarotene the antioxidant to help protect our immunity.
Pomegranates is the old French word for ‘seeded apples’, they are a fabulous source of potassium which is crucial to maintain a fluid balance in the body, by helping to maintain water balance as well as proper nerve and muscle impulses. They are also a great source of vitamin c and fibre which is good for immunity and digestion.
